About Me

I was born February 21, 1996. My hobbies are playing sports, hunting, fishing, being outdoors, running and muddin. I am in NJROTC. My goals are to get into NC State then join the Navy and become a nurse. If that doesn't work, or if I find out I dont like it, then I will be a Middle School P.E. Teacher. Being active is a major part of my life and the Teacher Cadet Program has made me come to realize how much I like working with little kids.

How Have I Learned From My Overall Experience?

I have learned so much. I didn't realize how much teachers actually do and how much work it all is. This experience has made me want to become a teacher, not as my real career but minor at it in college. It has made think of my teachers differently now since I have a lot better understanding of what they go through on a daily basis. I used to think all teachers did was just stand up teach give and grade tests and that's it, didn't think they did anything more till now.
How Do Classroom Management Philosophies and Techniques Influence How Teachers Resolve Classroom Discipline Issues?

From what I've seen, each teacher handles discipline differently. The teachers that have kids treat their students just like they would their own kids at home. I have looked at my own teachers and see how they handle discipline. Usually the discipline I have to do is just say they need to keep it down. That's about it.
What Are Some Signs of a Good Day in Class? What Things Happen in Your Opinion to Constitute a Good Day in the Classroom? What Are Some Signs of a Bad Day in a Class, and What Do They Look Like?

Everyday here is good. I haven't had a bad day. I don't know what it would be like to have a bad day, I've been blessed both semesters with good days everyday. My students mind very well, at least most of them do. If I have had a really good day in the classroom then that will be all I talk about at school and I'll tell my parents and friends all about it. My students are the reason I get up in the morning. Good things that happen are when I leave my kids say Miss Ellis don't leave us, please don't go and some will come and try to give me hugs.

           Ideal Classroom

My ideal classroom. I would have to say that in my ideal classroom, the students would love the subject as much as I do. They would come to school everyday with the best attitudes. When something difficult happens, they wouldn't quit, they would keep trying until they got it. The students would make all A's and would grasp the new lesson with no problems. But that's not going to happen and I'm glad of it. If that was really how classrooms were, I would quit. I want a challenge. I don't want perfection in the classroom because then teaching would be boring. I will admit it would be a lot less stressful but it wouldn't be the same. We, my students and I, wouldn't be able to grow any. I just want my kids to try everyday when they come in. That's all I want in my ideal classroom.
Things That Contribute to Me Continuing to Want to Go in to the Teaching Profession

Getting to teach them and be with them everyday is the reason I get up and come to school. When I don't come, they hound me the next day as to why I wasn't there. When I told them last semester that I might not be back they got sad and all gave me hugs. They just seem to be so happy when I come and sad when I leave and I really love that. They make my day everyday. By them acting like that, it makes me want to become a p.e. teacher.
Contributing to the Students Understanding of Topics Within the Classroom, and How They Respond to Younger Adults.

They seem to respond good to younger adults. Since we are close in age, they relate to me more than they do with the teacher. If she can't explain something fully, then I'll explain it and they'll get it. I think that they look to me more because in a way I'm a kid just like them. When the teacher is teaching, I'll help the kids understand it if they have questions.
Differentiation in the Classroom.

In my two classes there is some differentiation. Some of the kids only talk to certain kids. For example, the athletic kids talk to the other athletic kids. The smart ones only talk to the smart ones. They don't talk to any other than those of the same as them. The kids all learn about the same, but some of them just don't care to do anything.
